Ron has been an educator for the past 15 years and currently serves as the Director of Operations and co-founder of The Village Schools. In that time he has worked with students in public, private, and international school settings. The students that he has been privileged to serve come from a variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, learning styles, and academic abilities.
His career working with students began while serving as Youth Pastor at his local church while attending college at Valdosta State University, located in his home town of Valdosta, Georgia. Upon completion of his undergraduate studies, he worked as a middle grades Social Studies teacher as well as a night school credit recovery instructor with high school students in the Brooks County School System. Ron has also worked as a middle grades teacher for the Valdosta City School System.
In 2010, he and his family relocated to Seoul, South Korea where he had the privilege of working with students from around the world at the Yongsan International School of Seoul. During that time, he served as a classroom teacher and later was given the opportunity to create a comprehensive school counseling program that addressed the social and emotional needs of students in grades 6-8. Upon returning to the States in 2014, Ron worked as a school counselor and college counselor at the Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis, MA and later at The Benjamin School and American Heritage School both located in the West Palm Beach, Florida area.
Most recently, Ron has served as both High School Principal and Director of College Counseling at Midtown International School located in Atlanta, Georgia. While at MIS, he oversaw the creation of a comprehensive college counseling program as well as putting many important policies, procedures, and faculty in place in the development of the schools high school program. As a first generation college student, he understands the importance of going above and beyond simply lecturing in a classroom. Today’s students need educators who are willing to walk alongside them to ensure that they are adequately prepared for their life's path even beyond their secondary school years. Ron and his wife Sheretta are the proud parents of Janet and Kaleb.
